Congratulations Gene Mastin who became Section V All-Time Winning Leader on Friday, Oct. 9, 2009. Coach Mastin received his 207th career win, surpassing Don Santini who coached Fairport & LeRoy, retiring in 1992.
Coach Mastin finished the season
with a record of 13-0 and 214 wins
Austin Dwyer broke Section V Single Season Rushing Record during the NYS Semi-Final at Marina Auto Stadium with 284-2667 yards. Hornell beat Westhill 49-7. Austin went on to finish the season with 319-2836 in rushing yards and 34 touchdowns.
Austin Dwyer broke the NYS Tournament Single Game Rushing Recrod during the NYS Semi-Final at Marina Auto Stadium with 35-399 yards.
Austin Dwyer broke the school record for single season rushing with 249-2268 yards at the NYS Western Regional Championship on November 14, 2009. Hornell won the game with a score of 48-12. The record was formerly held by David Zapata in 2005 with 281-2,236. Austin went on to finish the season with 319-2836 in rushing yards and 34 touchdowns.
2009 Red Raiders set a new school record in points scored in a single season with 511 points.

Ontario-Honda Section V, Class B Offensive Player of the Year: Austin Dwyer - #22 (Senior) - has been chosen to receive the award during the Section V Class B Final on Saturday, November 7 at Marina Auto Stadium. Austin has rushed for 198 carries - 1,814 yards and scored 23 touchdowns coming into the Section V Class B Final where Hornell Raiders will compete against the Livonia Bulldogs. Austin went on to finish the season with 319-2836 in rushing yards and 34 touchdowns.

Section V, Class B Players of the Week:
Week 2 (offensive): Austin Dwyer - #22 (Senior) gained 290 yards on 25 carries, scored two touchdowns of 42 and 80 yards. Hornell defeated Wellsville 39-12.
Week 3 (offensive): Austin Dwyer - #22 (Senior) gained 247 yards on 25 carries, scored two touchdowns from 28 yards and 13 yards out. Hornell defeated Livonia 28-13.
Week 4 (offensive): Dominic Scavo - #11 (Sophomore) completed 8 of 10 attempted passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for three touchdowns from one, three, and four yard lines. Hornell defeated Vestal 47-12.
Week 6 (defensive): Zack Bacon - #40 (Freshman) had 14 tackles including four for losses as well as two sacks and one forced fumble. Hornell defeated Way-Co 42-12.
Week 7 (offensive): Austin Dwyer - #22 (Senior) gained 310 yards on 38 carries, scored four touchdowns of 29, 47, 12 and 3 yards out. Hornell defeated Bath 43-22.
